A 3000 year old tradition has been brought into modern spa life. Okazaki Restorative Masage is an adaptation of
SEI-KAI-FUKU-JITSU which translates to
"The Art of Restoring Vital Energies" and the restoration characters are much the same as those meaning remodeling of a building.

OKAZAKI RESTORATIVE MASSAGE

For massage it's not just Swedish anymore!

A New Style from the "Old School". The Okazaki Restorative Massage is an Oriental style similar to Shiatsu & Segoku massage styles. It is derived from the 3,000 year old healing system of Sefukujitsu, which is still practiced in Japan and especially in Calistoga. The comprehensive root-system finds western equivalents in mixing physical therapy & Osteopahy. Rather than "accu-torture" of the client it uses the steamroller effect of the forearm, generally making it more comfortable for the provider as well.

HOW DEEP? Working best during a firm application, this therapeutic grade massage can be adjusted to the body size, muscle tone & comfort ranges of the client. Because of the martial arts affiliation and its history, it would be best classified in a box labeled Deep Tissue or Sport Style, but it can find a niche in the relaxing & recreational massage without being painful.

Anything else different?
The post-massage "care & feeding" requires a generic tip of Stay Warm, Stay Dry & Move Slow for one hour.
+ The slow- to allow muscle tone to return without injury
+ the warm- to keep the body from cathing a chill
+ the stay DRY- to allow the energies of the massage
(from an Oriental POV) to internalize without being affected by the water (a neutralizing agent in many cultures, such as taking a hot bath to relax away the day in the USA).
